# All Fractions Videos

All Fractions Videos (not including decimals and percentages).                            MORE THAN 30 VIDEOS - TO WATCH AS OFTEN AS YOU NEED - FOR LESS THAN TWO HOURS OF PRIVATE TUITION*

Fractions is often one of the areas of maths that most frightens us!

These videos go from the basics - what fractions are; how fractions work; how to order fractions - up to more complex calulations, such as: how to add and subtract fractions;  how to understand fractions that are worth more than 1 (improper fractions and mixed numbers); how to convert between mixed numbers and improper fractions

1F1a recognise, find and name a half as teo equal parts of an object, shape or quantity

1F1b recognise, find and name a quarter as one of four equal parts of an object, shape or quantity

2F1a recognise, find, name and write fractions 1/3, 1/4, 2/4 and 3/4 of a length, shape, set of objects or quantity

2F1b write simple fractions (eg 1/2 of 6 = 3)

2F2 recognise the equivalence of 2/4 and 1/2

3F1a count up and down in tenths; recognise that tenths arise from dividing an object into 10 equal parts and in dividing one-digit numbers or quantities by 10

4F1 count up and down in hundredths; recognise that hundredths arise when dividing an object by a hundred and dividing tenths by ten

3F1b recognise, find and write fractions of a discrete set of objects: unit fractions and non-unit fractions with small denominators

3F1c recognise and use fractions as numbers: unit fractions and non-unit fractions with small denominators

3F2 recognise and show, using diagrams, equivalent fractions with small denominators

4F2 recognise and show, using diagrams, families of common equivalent fractions

5F2a recognise mixed numbers and improper fractions and convert from one form to the other; write mathematical statements >1 as a mixed number

6F2 use common factors to simplify fractions; use common multiples to express fractions in the same denomination

5F2b identify name and write equivalent fractions of a given fraction, represented visually, including tenths and hundredths

3F3 compare and order unit fractions and fractions with the same denominators

5F3 compare and order fractions whose denominators are all multiples of the same number

6F3 compare and order fractions, including fractions >1

3F4 add and subtract fractions with the same denominator within one whole [e.g. 5 7 + 1 7 = 6 7]

4F4 add and subtract fractions with the same denominator

5F4 add and subtract fractions with the same denominator and denominators that are multiples of the same number

6F4 add and subtract fractions with different denominators and mixed numbers, using the concept of equivalent fractions

5F5 multiply proper fractions and mixed numbers by whole numbers, supported by materials and diagrams

6F5a multiply simple pairs of proper fractions, writing the answer in its simplest form

6F5b divide proper fractions by whole numbers

### I no longer confuse my kids

My maths is pretty good - but the methods my kids learn at school are completely different from those I studied and when I tried to help, I just confused them. Until now. These videos are excellent! This is a brilliant support toolkit for parents and kids - I now understand their techniques and their confidence is growing too. Thanks! ()

### Time saving and great value!

These videos are excellent! I am now so much more confident helping my son with maths than I used to be. We get so much done in less time, and with these videos we can watch as often as we like if there’s something we find a bit trickier. ()

### These videos are paying off in terms of confidence!

“Both my daughters love watching these videos; they are clear, well-paced to enable them to gain an understanding of key tools and techniques, and the images are really helpful and easy to follow. The flexibility to cover as much or little as time allows, at times that suit, in bite-size chunks, is also a huge benefit. There is no doubt these are paying off in terms of their confidence in, and enjoyment of maths!” ()

### 'These videos will give you clarity'

Kathy’s videos are a fantastic tool. They have helped us learn the new techniques and have helped us and my daughter massively. They’re simple, clear and fun (Yes, fun!) I definitely recommend them to all parents who are keen to help their children, but find the ‘new’ techniques confusing. These videos will give you clarity.Alison, Cambridgeshire ()
